How It Works

Whole Half from our farm is an excellent way to stock your freezer with high-quality, pasture-raised beef. Below, we outline the entire process:

Deposit & Pricing:

This is a deposit to reserve your Cow. The final price will be calculated based on the hanging weight of the animal.

  • Price per pound: $6.50 (includes processing)
  • Estimated weight: 700-800 lbs per half
  • Estimated final cost: $4,500-$5,300

📋 Custom Cut Sheet

IMPORTANT! After placing your order, you'll need to complete your Custom Cut Sheet to specify your cutting preferences.

In this form you can specify:

  • Preferred steak thickness (3/4", 1", 1.5")
  • Roast sizes
  • Amount of ground beef vs whole cuts
  • Packaging preferences
  • And much more...

⏱️ Processing time: Your beef will be ready in approximately 4-6 weeks after completing your cut sheet.

Approximate Amounts & Cuts

Quantities may vary based on the size of the animal

Steaks:

  • Ribeye: 10-12 steaks (1" thick)
  • New York Strip: 12-14 steaks (1" thick)
  • Filet Mignon: 6-8 steaks (1.5" thick)
  • Sirloin: 10-12 steaks (1" thick)
  • Picanha: 6 steaks (1" thick)
  • Flank Steak: 2 steaks
  • Skirt Steak: 2 steaks
  • Flat Iron Steak: 2 steaks

Roasts & Large Cuts:

  • Chuck Roasts: 6 roasts
  • Sirloin Tip: 4 roasts or 6-8 packages of kabob meat
  • London Broil: 4 roasts
  • Brisket: 1 whole brisket

Other:

  • Ground Beef: 100-140 lbs (1 lb packages)
  • Fajita Strips: 8-10 packages
  • Short Ribs: 8 packages

A: Weight of the carcass after hide, head, hooves, and organs are removed. This is industry standard for pricing.

Q: Why is hanging weight more than take-home weight?

A: Additional weight is lost from dry aging (moisture), trimming fat, and removing bones if you choose boneless cuts.

Q: Can I share a half with a friend?

A: Yes! We can split into two pickups. Mention this in your cut sheet.

Q: What if I don't want certain cuts?

A: No problem! Unwanted cuts can be ground into hamburger or made into other products.

Q: How is it packaged?

A: Vacuum-sealed in clear plastic, labeled with cut name and weight, frozen solid.

Q: How long does it last in the freezer?

A: 12-18 months when properly vacuum-sealed and stored.

Q: Is deposit refundable?

A: No, deposits are non-refundable as they reserve your processing slot.
